The article opened with an update saying GPT-6 Astra had begun reaching Business and Pro customers on the $100 or $200 plan, ahead of Plus customers on the $20 plan. It then said OpenAI had started a staged release of the model.

OpenAI said GPT-6 Astra would expand over the next few days to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users, and also through the OpenAI API and AWS. The company said usage would sit within existing allowances, with extra credits available to buy.

OpenAI described the model as a major step in computer use, browsing, software engineering, cybersecurity, science and professional work. It also said GPT-6 Astra met its cybersecurity threshold under the Preparedness Framework.

For Codex, OpenAI said the model would be able to keep notes across context windows when long sessions filled up. The company said earlier context would remain searchable and that the feature would become the default in the coming weeks.

OpenAI also said Pro, Business and Enterprise users would get GPT-6 Astra Pro, while enterprise administrators would need to switch it on for their own workspaces. The article said new GPT-6 models would first go to members of the Daybreak programme.
