OpenAI rolls out GPT-6 with interactive UI

OpenAI began deploying GPT-6 in ChatGPT with an Intelligent UI that changed replies into interactive layouts, while the company said the model could answer before finishing its internal reasoning.

THE-DECODER

OpenAI began deploying GPT-6 with Intelligent UI to ChatGPT users. The company said the feature changed replies into interactive layouts that could include graphics, buttons, charts and forms.

OpenAI also said the format adapted to the question, so comparisons could appear side by side and explanations could be turned into charts. It said users could also get small tools inside the chat, such as a savings calculator or a game.

The company said GPT-6 could answer while it was still processing, which it said cut waiting time by 44 percent and produced better results. In internal tests, OpenAI said the model outperformed GPT-5.6 on difficult web searches using that approach.

OpenAI said paying customers would get GPT-6 Sol and free users would get GPT-6 Luna. The rollout began globally for Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users, with free and Go users due to follow one day later.

The article also noted that Google had already shipped a similar feature for Gemini in May. Google’s version was called Neural Expressive.

How the source tells it

The piece read like a product-launch brief, leaning on OpenAI’s own claims and a brief rivalry note with Google.

  • vendor boosterism the article relayed OpenAI’s rollout and performance claims as the main substance of the piece
  • novelty it foregrounded a new interactive interface format and built-in mini tools
  • competitive framing it compared the feature with a similar one from Google to emphasise the update
