Anthropic opens call for life sciences guest investigators
Anthropic invited principal investigators and research groups in life sciences to propose 8- to 12-week projects using Claude, with selected teams working alongside company researchers and retaining their data rights.
- Anthropic invited life sciences researchers to apply for special projects using Claude.
- It said it wanted proposals from principal investigators and research groups at academic institutions, nonprofits or government laboratories in causal human biology, structural and computational molecular biology, medicinal chemistry, drug discovery and clinical science.
- Selected guest investigators would work with Anthropic researchers for 8 to 12 weeks, and Anthropic would provide model runs and related tooling at no charge.
- Anthropic said it would publish the outputs with the collaborators and release the accompanying data and code, while guest investigators kept rights to their own data and any independent follow-on research.
- Applications were due for about 14 days, and Anthropic said it would email chosen participants about 14 days after the close.
Anthropic invited life sciences researchers to apply for short projects using Claude. It said it wanted proposals from principal investigators and their teams at academic institutions, nonprofits or government laboratories, across several areas of biology and drug research.
The company said selected investigators would work with Anthropic researchers for eight to 12 weeks. Anthropic would provide model runs and related tooling at no charge, and the teams would produce analyses, artefacts and tools for the company’s work.
Anthropic said the collaboration would be used to publish outputs and release accompanying data and code under open-source terms. It also said guest investigators would keep rights to their own data throughout the project and to any independent follow-on research.
Applications were due over roughly 14 days, and Anthropic said it would email chosen participants about 14 days after applications closed. It also said the effort sat alongside its Life Sciences Verification Program and AI for Science initiative.
