Anthropic S-1 shows growth in large customers
Anthropic’s filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission said many large customers used more than one Claude product, while also disclosing customer counts, revenue growth and risks tied to cloud partners.
- Anthropic filed an S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday.
- As of 30 September, it said it had more than 11,900 customers spending at least $100,000 a year, more than 1,900 spending over $1 million, and about 250 spending $10 million or more.
- The filing said more than half of customers spending at least $100,000 used both the Claude platform and a first-party app such as Claude Code or Cowork.
- Anthropic said net revenue retention was about 900% at the end of the third quarter, and that first-half 2026 revenue was $16.3 billion, up from $1.2 billion a year earlier.
Anthropic’s filing said its larger customers were increasingly using more than one of its products. It reported that, by 30 September, it had more than 11,900 customers spending at least $100,000 a year, more than 1,900 spending above $1 million, and about 250 spending at least $10 million.
The filing said more than half of customers in the $100,000-a-year group used both the Claude platform and a first-party app. It also said the highest-spending 5% of Claude Enterprise customers who used Claude Code spent about 20 times as much per month as the average enterprise user who did not use the coding tool.
Anthropic said this reflected its approach of combining models, developer tools and user-facing applications. It also said it supported adoption through Applied AI teams and a venture it set up with Blackstone and other private equity firms, called Ode with Anthropic.
The filing said Anthropic also relied on distribution deals with AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, while keeping the direct customer contract and paying those providers a fee. It warned that those companies could prioritise their own needs or those of rivals, and that concentration among its largest customers also posed a risk.
